Ward. <br />Members Absent: Chairman Harvey D, Bennett. <br />Vice Chairman Walker called the meeting to order and then turned the meeting <br />over to Charles Johnston, Chairman of the Countq Planning Board. Chairman Johnston <br />proceeded to conduct the public hearing. <br />For the minutes eP the meeting of the Orange County Planning Board see the <br />minute docket of that Board. <br />At the conclusion oP the public hearing Chairman Jc:hnaton turned the chair <br />back to Viae Chairman Walker. <br />There being no further business to come before the meeting said meeting was <br />adjourned. <br />Henrq S, Walker, Vice Chairman <br />S. Gattis, Acting Clerk <br />MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COIINTY <br />BOARD pF COMMISSIONERS <br />April 13, 1971 <br />Tha Board oP County Commissioners of Crange Countq met in adjourned session <br />at 7 o~clock P,M. on Tueadaq, April 13, 1971, in the County Commissioners Rvvm of <br />the Durham County Courthouse in Durham, North Carolina. <br />Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Sennett, and Commissioners William C. <br />Ray, Henry S. Walker and Norman Walker. <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Ira A. Ward. <br />Sohn Morissey, Executive Director and General Counsel of the North Carolina <br />Association of County Commissioners, presented the progress of the legislative <br />program of the Co~iasioners Association. A question and answer period ensued. <br />A Seventh District caucus was held and Neil Fleming of Alamance Countq became <br />the nominee for the position of the Seventh District Director. . <br />Chairman Bennett then called into session the members oP the Orange Countq <br />Board of Commissioner a. Chairman Bennett stated that he had received a req..uest <br />from Richie Leonard, President of the Carolina IInion to hold a Pireworka display <br />an Saturdaq night, May 1, 1971, at the Navy Field in Chapel Hill. <br />xt was moved and adopted that Mr. Leonard be granted permission to hold a <br />fireworks display on Saturdaq, May 1, 1971, provided that said display be conducted <br />under the supervision of the Chapel Hill FYre Department. <br />There being no further business to come before the Beard said meeting was <br />adjourned to meet again on April 26, 1971. <br />Harvey D.
