soac 7 eac~ 358 <br />MINUTES CF THE CRANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSTONERS <br />April 6, 1971 <br />The Board oP County Commissioners of Orange County met in adjourned joint <br />session with the County Planning Board at the duly advertised public hearing <br />on Tuesday, April 6, 1971, at 8 o~alock P.M. in the Courtroom oP the Courthouse 1 <br />in Rillaborough, North Carolina. <br />Members Present: Vice CY~sirman Henry Walker and Commissioners William C. <br />Ray, Norman Walker and Zra-A. Ward. <br />Members Absent: Chairman Rarvey D. Bennett. <br />Vice Chairman Walker called the meeting to order and then turned the meeting <br />over to Charles Johnston, Chairman oP the County Planning Beard. Chairman Johnston <br />proceeded to conduct the public hearing. <br />For the minutes oP the meeting of the Orange County Planning Board sae the <br />minute docket oP that Board. <br />At the oonclusion of the public hearing Chairman Jchnaton turned the chair <br />back to Vice Chairman Walker. <br />There being no Further business to come before the meeting said meeting was <br />adjourned. <br />Renry 5, Walker, Vice Chairman <br />S. Gattis, Acting Clerk <br />MINUTES OF THE OR&NGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />April 13, 1971 <br />The Board oP County Commieaionere oP Orange County met in adjourned session _. <br />at 7 o~clock P,M. on Tuesday, April 13, 1971, in the County Commissioners Room of <br />the Durham County Courthouse in Durham, North Carolina. <br />Members Present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, and Commissioners William C. <br />Ray, Renry S. Walker and Norman Walker. <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Ira A, Ward. <br />John Morissey, Executive Director and General Counsel of the North Carolina <br />Association of County Cotmnisaioners, presented the progress oP the legislative <br />program of the Commissioners Association. A queatinn and answer period ensued. <br />A Seventh District caucus was held and Neil Fleming oP Alamance County became <br />the nominee for the position oP the Seventh District Director. <br />Chairman Bennett then called into session the members of the orange County <br />Board of Commissioner a. Chairman Bennett stated that he had received a request <br />from Richie Leonard, President of the Carolina IInion to hold a fireworks display <br />on Saturday night, May 1, 1971, at the Navy Field in Chapel Hill. <br />It was moved and adopted that Mr. Leonard be granted permission to hold a <br />fireworks display on Saturday, May 1, 1971, provided that said display b® conducted <br />under the supervision of the Chanel Rill Fire Department. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting was <br />adjourned to meet again on April 26, 1971. <br />Harvey D.
