M. on Tuesday, July ].1~., 1970, in the Commissioners Room of the Courthouse in <br />Hillsborough. <br />Members Present: Chairman Carl M, Smith, and Commissioners Harvey D, Bennett, <br />William C. Ray, Henry S, Walker and Ira A. Ward, <br />Members Absent: None <br />r <br />Representatives from the Mebane Industrial Committee were present. $ill Hupman <br />was the spokesman for the group. The purpose of this meeting was to disausa the <br />possibility of Orange County establishing a policy which could be used by the <br />Industrial Development Conanittee in their talks with various industries. Diacuseion <br />ensued relative to a policy which might be applied to the water and sewerage line <br />expense. <br />IInon motion of Commission Ward, aeaonded by Commissioner Ray, it was moved <br />and unanimously adopted, that Orange County install water and sewerage lines without <br />cast to proposed industry, provided the industriee~ ad valorem taxes were suffiaient <br />tv amortize the aoat of the installation during a five year period, if the proposed <br />property tax waa not sufficient to amortize itself then an acreage fee sufficient <br />to defray the difference would then be applied, <br />
