Smith, Chairman Betty June Hayes, Clerk MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS May 11}, 1970 i The Board of Commissioners of Orange County met in adjourned session at i the Courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina, in the Co~misaioners Room at 8 o~alock P.M, on Thursday, May 1LE, 1970. Members Present: Chairman Carl M. Smith, and Cor~isaioners Harvey D, Bennett, and Ira A, Ward. Members Absent: Commissioners William C, Ray and Henry S. Walker. This meeting was held for the nurnose of discussing the 197D contract with representatives of the Durham Ambulance Service. i According to a submitted financial statement covering the period Suly 1 19b9, through December 31, 1969, the Durham Ambulance Service had a defecit of $1,00.00 for the indicated period and the new contract renresanted a $650.00 monthly I increase and was broken down in the following manner: $150.00 to recover the defecit of the previous years, $300.00 to prevent re-ooaurring defecit and $200.00 as potential profit. Dissuasion ensued and the Board offered to renew the aontraat with the Durham Ambulance Service,for a period of one year, for $3$,300.00. The 1 Vice_President of the company agreed to accept the Board's offer and stated that the contract would ba presented at the June meeting. j Tha County Administrator was instructed to forward a memorandum proposing a cost sharing arrangement with the Town of Chapel Hill and the Town of Carrboro.
