",uu dCi ia4 MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COY,=SSIONERS <br />January 27, 1969 <br />The Board of County Commissioners met in the Commissioners room of <br />the Courthouse in Hillsborough on Monday, January 27, 1969 at 9:30 P.M. <br />Members Present: Chairman Carl M. Smith, and Commissioners Harvey <br />D. Bennett, William C. Ray, Ira A. Ward and Henry S. Walker. <br />Members Absent: None <br />_ Wiley Perry was present to inquire as to the possibility of obtaining <br />sewerage lines to a real estate development which he was planning near <br />Mebane. <br />The Board informed Mr. Perry that they were willing to explore the <br />feasibility of utilizing some of the existing sewerage lines and the numping <br />station facilities which are available in the Mebane Industrial Park area. <br />The Board further informed Mr. Perry that the county could in no manner assume <br />any financial liability for the cost of construction of said sewerage lines to <br />the proposed real estate development. <br />The County Administrator submitted the following bids for the extension <br />of water and sewerage facilities to Apparel, Inc. They are: <br />COMPANY BID <br />Smith Construction Company $22,502.00 <br />Dean Patterson Construction Company $25,710,00 <br />J. K. Barton Construction Company $28,324.00 <br />Propst Construction company $28,337.00 <br />The Smith Construction Company was the low bidder on the contract and <br />offered to complete the project within thirty days. Discussion ensued concerning <br />said matter. <br />Upon motion of Commissinner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Ray, it was <br />moved and adopted, that the county accept the low bid of $22,502.00 which had <br />been submitted by Smith Construction Company for the extension of water and <br />sewerage facilities to Apparel, Inc. ?- <br />There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting <br />adjourned. <br />Carl M.
