Minutes of the Board of Commissioners <br />Wednesday, February 1, 1967 <br /> <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in adjourned session on Wednesday, <br />February 1, 1967, at 11 o'clock a.m. at the site of the Piedmont Steel & Tubing <br />Company proposed plant. <br />Members present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, Commissioners William C. Ray, <br />Carl M. Smith, Henry Walker and Ira A. Ward. <br />Members absent: None <br />The purpose of this meeting was to attend the dedication and groundbreaking <br />ceremonies of the Piedmont Steel & Tubing Company plant, known as the Berger Plant, <br />which is located in the new industrial Park Area of northwestern Orange County. <br />Commissioner Carl M. Smith presided at the ceremonies as Mester of Ceremonies. <br />After the.ceremonies the Board discussed various county matters. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting was <br />adjourned to meet again on Friday, February 3, 1967, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. in the <br />office of Commissioner Carl M. Smith in Chapel Hill, N. C. <br />S. M. Smith at Chapel Hill, N. C. <br />Members present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, Commissioners William C. Ray, <br />Carl M. Smith, Henry Walker and Ira A. Ward. <br />Members absent: None <br />The purpose of this meeting was to diecuas the proposed Draft #7 of the <br />Chapel Hill Township Zoning Ordinance. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board said meeting was <br />adjourned. <br />S.
