466 MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />July 25, 1966 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in adjourned session,on Monday, <br />July 25, 1966, at 8 O'clock p.m. in the Commissioners roon at the courthouse in <br />Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />Members present: Chairman Harvey Bennett, Commissioners Gordon B. Cleveland, <br />William C. Ray, Carl M. Smith and Henry S. Walker. <br />Members absent: None <br />The purpose of this meeting was to consider for adoption the proposed 1966-1967 <br />county budget. <br />Discussion ensued concerning the current school expense budget. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Cleveland, seconded by Commissioner Ray, it was <br />moved and unanimously adopted, that the per capita current expense allocation be <br />increased for the two school units from the $48.00 (tentatively set) per student to <br />$50.00 per student and that the tax levy.tentatively set at 942 be set at 950 per <br />one hundred dollar valuation. <br />The County Accountant was directed to determine the amounts that would be <br />allocated to each school unit and to incorporate said amounts into the respective <br />school budgets. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Cleveland, seconded by Commissioner Ray, the <br />following Appropriation Resolution and Tax Levy Resolution was unanimously adopted. <br />APPROPRIATIONS RESOLUTION <br />Fund Sum <br />Bond Fund S 23,560.00 <br />General Fund 457,636.00 <br />Property Revaluation 20,000.00 <br />Public Health 125,000.00 <br />School: <br />Current Expense 547,357.00 <br />Capital outlay 546,620.00 <br />Debt. Service 284,860.00 <br />Welfare (General) 197,189.00 <br />Welfare: <br />Aid to Families with Dependent Children 267,260.00 <br />Aid to Permanently and Totally Disabled 146,740.00 <br />Old Age Assistance 207,900.00 <br />Medical Aid to the Aged 11,200.00 <br />Total Appropriations $2 ,835,322.00 <br />The appropriation for School Current Expense shall be divided as follows: <br />To the County Unit Per Capita $ 240,300.00 <br />Non-Participation Revenues 71,057.00 <br />Total County Unit $ 311,357.00 <br />To the Chapel Hill Unit Per Capita $ 236,000.00 <br />The total appropriations for Capital Outlay shall be divided as follows: <br />County Unit $ 200,000.00 <br />Chapel Hill Unit 34620.00 <br />Total $ 546,620.00 <br />Of the $200,000.00 Capital Outlay appropriated to the County Unit, $15,000 is <br />reserved for the purchase of three school buses to be used by the Chapel Hill School <br />System. <br />Chairman Harvey D. Bennett called for a vote and there were five ayes and <br />no nayes.
