Call to Order and Introductions <br /> DSS Chair, Oscar Fleming, called the meeting to order at 4:06 pm. <br /> II. Board Comments <br /> None. <br /> III. Public Comments <br /> None. <br /> IV. Agenda Changes <br /> Lindsey Shewmaker requested to add Orange County Guardianship Assistance Agreement and Policy <br /> to the agenda. <br /> V. Action Items <br /> On a motion by Jane Garrett, the Board approved the minutes of September 15, 2025. Ann Wilkerson <br /> seconded the motion. The motion was carried without dissent. <br /> VI. Items for Discussion and/or Decision <br /> 1. Guardianship Assistance Agreement and Policy <br /> Lindsey Shewmaker presented the proposed policy for the County's Guardianship Assistance <br /> Program and the related agreement. <br /> After discussion, the Board proposed one change to clarify the first sentence of the policy. <br /> On a motion by Jane Garrett, the Board approved the Orange County Guardianship Assistance <br /> Policy with one medication. Chris Barnes seconded the motion. The motion was carried without <br /> dissent. <br /> 2. Federal Shutdown Updates <br /> Lindsey Shewmaker shared a memo that she had sent to the County Manager detailing the impacts <br /> of the government shutdown on current Social Services operations. <br /> l <br />
