Year-to-Date Budget Kirk Vaughn, (919) 245-2153 <br /> Summary <br /> PURPOSE: To approve budget, grant, and capital project ordinance amendments for Fiscal Year <br /> 2023-24. <br /> Department of Environment, Agriculture, Parks and Recreation <br /> 1. The Department of Environment, Agriculture, Parks and Recreation received a grant <br /> reimbursement of $25,581 from North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer <br /> Services for the Streamflow Rehabilitation Assistance (StRAP) in FY 2022-23. These <br /> funds were inadvertently posted to General Fund and fell into the General Fund's fund <br /> balance for FY 2022-23. This amendment appropriates these funds from fund balance in <br /> the General Fund and allows for the transfer into the StRAP grant within the Multi-Year <br /> Grant Fund, outside of the General Fund. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ESTABLISH SUSTAINABLE AND EQUITABLE LAND-USE AND <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES <br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of people of all races, cultures, <br /> incomes and educational levels with respect to the development and enforcement <br /> of environmental laws, regulations, policies, and decisions. Fair treatment means <br /> that no group of people should bear a disproportionate share of the negative <br /> environmental consequences resulting from industrial, governmental and <br /> commercial operations or policies. <br /> Criminal Justice Resources Department <br /> 2. The Criminal Justice Resources Department (CJRD) has received a donation of$225 from <br /> students at East Chapel Hill High School for use in FY 2023-24. This donation is to supply <br /> children of individuals incarcerated at the Orange County Detention Center with gift cards <br /> in recognition of the hardship of having a loved one in detention.
