Minutes of the Board of County Commissioners <br />February 10, 1964 <br />33IL <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Monday, February 10, <br />1964, at 10:00 o'clock A.M., in the Commissioners Room at the Courthouse in Hillsboro,. N. C. <br />Members present: Chairman Donald Stanford, Commissioners Harvey Bennett, Gordon Cleveland, <br />Carl M. Smith, and Heruv S. Walker. <br />Members absent: None. <br />?J <br />The purpose of this meeting was to hear a request from the Orange County Bas Association <br />concerning additional terms of Criminal Court. <br />Gordon Battle, Attorney, represented the Bar Association in its request that three <br />additional terms of Criminal Court be secured as soon as possible to expedite the trial of cases <br />on the congested Criminal Court Calendar. Mr. Battle suggested that these terms of court be <br />scheduled for the weeks of March 2, 1964, March 9, 1964, and H?roh 16, 1964. Discussion ensued <br />on this request. <br />Upon motion of Cormissioner Smith, seconded by Commissioner Bennett, and unanimously <br />adopted, the Clerk was authorized to contact the Chief Justice and request that-the proposed <br />terms of Criminal Court be scheduled. <br />Juries were drawn for the following terms of court: <br />March 2, 1964, Criminal Term 75 names <br />March 9, 1964, Criminal Term 75 names <br />parch 16, 1964, Criminal Term 80 names <br />April 13, 1964, Criminal Term 76 names <br />April 20, 1964, Criminal Term 76 names <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, said meeting was adjourned <br />to meet again in special session on Monday, February 17, 1964, in the Commissioners Room at the <br />Courthouse in Hillsboro, N.
