1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: December 4, 2023 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8-i <br /> SUBJECT: Changes in BOCC Meeting Schedule for 2024 <br /> DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Revised Text Calendar <br /> Revised Color Calendar Laura Jensen, Clerk to the Board, 919- <br /> 245-2130 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider changes to the Board of Commissioners' meeting calendar for 2024. <br /> BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County <br /> Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change <br /> in the Meeting Schedule. <br /> It is proposed to move the Assembly of Governments meeting on January 23, 2024 at 7:00 pm <br /> to the Southern Human Services Center in Chapel Hill. The meeting was originally scheduled <br /> to be held at the Whitted Human Services Center in Hillsborough. <br /> It is also proposed to move the Legislative Breakfast on March 21, 2024 at 8:30 am to the <br /> Whitted Human Services Center in Hillsborough. The meeting was originally scheduled to be <br /> held at the Bonnie B. Davis Environmental and Agricultural Center in Hillsborough. <br /> There are no other proposed changes to the Board of Commissioners' 2024 meeting calendar. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with this item. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal impact associated <br /> with this item. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: There is no Orange County Environmental Responsibility Goal <br /> impact associated with this item. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board amend its meeting calendar <br /> for 2024 and hold the Assembly of Governments meeting at the Southern Human Services <br /> Center at 7:00 pm on January 23, 2024, and the Legislative Breakfast at the Whitted Human <br /> Services Center at 8:30 am on March 21, 2024. <br />
