C. <br />Members present: Chairman Donald Stanford, Commissioners Harvey Bennett, <br />Clarence Jones, Donald McDade and Henry Walker. <br />Members absent: None <br />The purpose of this meeting was to discuss further the 1962-1963 budget. <br />The following budgets were approved: All School Funds, the General Fund, <br />the Farm Program Fund and the Health Fund. <br />The County Accountant was directed to formulize all appropriations into a-. <br />resolution that could be adopted at the next called meeting. <br />There being no further business to come before the meeting the Board <br />was adjourned to meet again on Tuesday, July 24, 1962, at 8 o'clobk.p.m. in <br />the Commissioners' room. <br />Donald Stanford <br />Chairman <br />I S. Gattis <br />Acting Clerk <br />Minutes of the Board of Commissioners <br />July 24, 1962 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, July 24, 1962, at 8 <br />o'clock p.m. in the Conanissioners' room at the courthouse in Hillsboro, N. C. <br />Members present: Chairman Donald Stanford, Commissioners Harvey Bennett, <br />Clarence Jones, Donald McDade and Henry Walker, <br />Members absent: None <br />Sheriff C, D. Knight requested that he be allowed to convert funds presently <br />appropriated to his department as he wishes to apply these funds toward the employment <br />of a full time Negro Deputy. Sheriff Knight stated that it will be necessary to <br />appropriate an additional w1000.00 to cover the remainder of the salary expense. The <br />Board directed the County Accountant to adjust the tentative budget to include Sheriff <br />Knight's request and to advise the Sheriff that the Board would discuss the matter <br />with him at a later date. <br />Bill Windham of Efland discussed with the Board the problem of access to
