Bb.) <br />There being no further business to come before the Board this meeting was <br />adjourned with the Commissioners having to meet again on Tuesday, May 291h, at 11 <br />o'clock a.m. for the purpose of canvasing the votes cast in the Special Election for <br />Supplemental Tax in the Chapel Hill School District. <br />Donald Stanford, Chairman <br />Betty June Hayes, Clerk <br />Minutes of the Board of Commissioners <br />may 29, 1962 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, May 29, 1962, at 10:30 <br />o'clock a.m. for the purpose of canvassing the votes cast in the Special Election <br />for Supplental Tax in the Chapel Hill School District. Said election being held <br />on Saturday, May 26, 1962. <br />Members present: Chairman Donald Stanford, Co=mmissioners Clarence Jones, <br />Donald McDade and Henry Walker. <br />Members absent: Commissioner Harvey Bennett. <br />The canvas revealed the following results by precincts. <br />ABSTRACT OF VOTES CAST AT A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR SUPPLEMENTAL TAX IN THE CHAPEL HILL <br />SCHOOL DISTRICT, HELD ON SATURDAY, MAY 26, 1962, AT THE PLACES APPOINTED BY LAW FOR <br />HOLDING ELECTIONS IN SAID DISTRICT. <br />VOTERS REGISTERED VOTES VOTES <br />I PRECINCTS & QUALIFIED TO FOR AGAINST <br />VOTE <br />North Carrboro 517 5 <br />South Carrboro 742 20 <br />1 470 <br />Country Club 597 362 124 <br />Dogwood Acres 303 81 185 <br />East Franklin 630 288 220 <br />Estes Hills 570 289 171 <br />Glenwood 585 322 154 <br />King's Mill 390 171 168 <br />Northside 806 305 345 <br />Westwood 644 277 257 <br />Cole's Store 21 3 11 <br />Patterson 9o 17 65 <br />TOTAL 5895 2285 2536 <br />No citizen appeared to protest the results of or any aspect of this election. <br />As all expenses for the special election were incurred in the name of the <br />County Attorney the Chairman of the Board directed t he County Accountant to pay the <br />following bills and send a statement of accounts due to the Chapel Hill City Board <br />of Education. <br />Account.of expenses are listed below: <br />The Chapel Hill Weekley Advertising 98.19 <br />News of Orange County Advertising & Ballots 128.33 <br />Graham:& Levings, Attys.
