Butler (CH) <br />The Board of Commissioners adjourned and reconvened as a Board of Equalization <br />Review. <br />The following matters were presented: <br />1. The appraisal of lots 29 & 30 Block C Mountain View Estate was reviewed and <br />recommendation of the Tax Supervisor this valuation was set at $8,700.00, This <br />sty is owned by H. W. Moore of Hillsboro Township. <br />2. Due to the fact that Alexander's,Inc, has failed to file a county property tax <br />n for 1960 or 1961 tax year this board upon recommendation of the Tax Supervisor <br />the following assessments: <br />1960 - 17,500.00 <br />1961 - 17,500.00 <br />3. Due to the fact that Maurice Julian Trading as the College Shop has failed to <br />a county property tax return for 1960 or 1961 tax year this board sets the follow- <br />assessments: <br />1960 - $25,000.00 <br />1961 - $25,000.00 <br />4. Information relative to the valuation of the Lennox Development Company and <br />of Country Club Development Corporation was presented in the form of a letter from <br />J. L. Murihead. Bettis, Acting Clark <br />Minutes of the Board of Commissioners <br />May 25, 1961 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met Thursday, May 25, 1961, in the Commissioners room <br />at the courthouse in Hillsboro, N. C. <br />Members present: Chairman Donald Stanford, Commissioners Harvey Bennett, Clarence Jones, <br />Donald McDade and Henry Walker. <br />Members absent: None <br />The purpose of this meeting was to commence study of the budget for the fiscal year of 1961-1962. <br />Commissioners Jones moved that the Board include on the school debt service the a= of $30,000.00 <br />to be used as estimated interest on the recently voted school bond issue and that the date of November <br />7, 1961, be selected as a tenative date of sale for said bonds. This motion received a second from <br />Commissioner McDade and when a vote was called there was5 eyes and 0 naves. <br />The Board continued budget discussions until 10:30 p.m. at which time they adjourned. <br />Donald Stanford <br />Chairman <br />S.
