190 <br />Minutes of the Board of Commissioners <br />July 25, 1960. <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in adjourned session on Monday, July 25, 1960, at <br />9:30 o'clock a.m. in the Commissioners' room at the courthouse in Hillsboro, 11. C. <br />Members present: Chairman R. J. M. Hobbs, Commissioners Clarence Jones, Donald McDade, <br />Donald Stanford and Henry Walker. <br />Members absent: None <br />The purpose of this meeting was to discuss further the County budget for the fiscal year of <br />1960-1961. <br />A new pay plan to superceed the old plan which was established in 1955 was presented by the <br />County Accountant, The Accountant mentioned the fact that when the old pay plan was instituted <br />in 1955 the cost of living index as recorded by the Federal Government stood at 1114.5. Today this <br />index stands at. 126.5 <br />The pay plan as presented was discussed at great lengths and the Board decided to amend it <br />so teat the starting salary in pay grade five (5) would be $263.00 per month and that the slaps <br />would progress upward from there. <br />At the conclusion of this discussion the new plan as presented was adopted and the Acting <br />Clerk was directed to record same in the minutes. <br />e 1 h 5 Max. <br />This meeting was adjourned at 1:15 p.m. to meet again on Tuesday, July 26th, at 8 o'clock <br />p.m. <br />R. C. <br />Members present: Chairman R. J. M. Hobbs, Commissioners Clarence Jones, Donald McDade, <br />Donald Stanford and Henry Walker. <br />Members absent: None <br />Budgets of the various General Fund Agencies, the Farm Fund, the Health Fund And Welfare <br />Funds were discussed and tentatively set. <br />The meeting adjourned at 11:15 o'clock p.m, to meet arain on Wednesday, July 27th. <br />R.
