The grant did not create new funding streams, <br />but combined funds appropriated to the Department on Aging, Department of Social Services, <br />and Joint Orange Chatham Community Action Agency, (JOCCA) to administer programs for <br />senior citizens. <br />The block grant requires the Board of Commissioner; to approve the recommended funding <br />plan. The recommended funding for the 2001-2002 year is $404,812. The amount is $10,834 <br />more than 2000-2001 grant amount of $393,978. The Home and Community Care Technical <br />Advisory Committee reviewed the plan on April 4, 2001 and supported the continual of current <br />funding levels with the additional of $10,834 to be allocated for Day Care Services. The <br />Advisory Board on Aging also reviewed the committee's plan on May 11, 2001 and <br />recommended the approval. The Funding Plan is attached. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The Home and Community Care Block Grant to the County will increase <br />$10,834 for fiscal year 2001-2002. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the 2001-2002 <br />Home and Community Care Block Grant Funding Plan and. authorize the Chair to sign grant <br />documents. <br />
