182 <br />May 2, 1960, minutues continued. <br />The Board reconvened as a Board of Equalization and Review. Two representatives of Duke <br />Power Company were present and they requested that the present tax assessment on the property of <br />their company located in Eno Township be reduced. <br />The Board agreed to accept the itemized tax listing far Duke Power Company as submitted <br />in January of 1960. <br />These being no further business the meeting was adjourned to meet again on Monday, June <br />6, 1960. <br />R. Hobbs <br />Chairman <br />Betty Jane Hayes <br />Clerk <br />Minutes of the Board of Commissioners <br />May 23, 1960 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Monday, May 23, 1960, at - <br />8 o'clock p.m. in the Commissioners' room at the courthouse in Hillsboro, N. C. <br />Members present: Chairman R. J. M. Hobbs, Commissioners Clarence Jones, Donald McDade, <br />Donald Stanford and Henry Walker. <br />Members absent: None <br />The purpose of this meeting was to discuss with the Board of Public Welfare their budget <br />requests for the fiscal year of 1960--1961, <br />The Sie1£are Board reported that the A.D.C. and the A.P.T.D. budgets would be overspent for <br />the 1959-1960 fiscal year; however, there would be enough county money ;within the entire program <br />to offset the deficit. <br />Chairman Hobbs announed that the Board would meet with the County Board of Education on <br />Tuesday, ;day 31st at 8 otclock p.m. and with the Chapel Hill Board of Education on Tuesday, June 7th, <br />at 8 otclock p.m. <br />There being no further business the meeting was adjourned until, Tuesday, May 31st. <br />R.
