1 <br /> APPROVED 3/7/2019 <br /> MINUTES <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> February 19, 2019 <br /> 7:00 p.m. <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, February <br /> 19, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Southern Human Services Center in Chapel Hill, N.C. <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Penny Rich and Commissioners <br /> Jamezetta Bedford, Mark Dorosin, Sally Greene, Earl McKee, and Mark Marcoplos <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Price <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, Deputy County <br /> Manager Travis Myren, and Clerk to the Board Donna Baker (All other staff members will <br /> be identified appropriately below) <br /> Chair Rich called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. <br /> Chair Rich said Commissioner Price is out of town. <br /> 1. Additions or Changes to the Agenda <br /> Chair Rich noted the following items at the Commissioners' places: <br /> - PowerPoint for item 4-a <br /> - PowerPoint for item 6-b <br /> - Additional information for item 6-c <br /> *** Arts Commission Appointment (11 b) — Clerk to the Board Donna Baker asked if this item <br /> could be moved up to 4-c, since Katie Murray, Arts Commission Director, is in attendance for <br /> the Arts Moment. <br /> The Board agreed by consensus. <br /> PUBLIC CHARGE <br /> Chair Rich acknowledged the public charge. <br /> Arts Moment <br /> Katie Murray, Arts Commission Coordinator, introduced the artist: <br /> Agnieszka Stachura is a first generation American Yankee expat living in the South. <br /> If she's not writing, she's most likely baking, knitting, spinning wool, or watching very, very <br /> bad TV. Her work has appeared in Fifth Wednesday Journal, Damselfly Press, The Broken <br /> Plate, Funny Times, and The Sun, among other publications. She read a short piece called <br /> "Heritage," which discussed the effects of a flood on a family's life and home. <br /> 2. Public Comments <br /> a. Matters not on the Printed Agenda <br /> Karen Dunn, Club Nova Executive Director, introduced Rosemary Waldorf, and said <br /> they are here on behalf of Club Nova. <br />
