~1~'F -6/a9/oG <br />5-~~'" <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />ORANGE COUNTY <br />AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN ORANGE COUNTY HEREINAFTER THE <br />COUNTY: AND THE TOWN OF CARRBORO, HEREINAFTER THE TOWN: <br />FOR SELECT ANIMAL CONROL SERVICES ON AN INTERIM BASIS. <br />INTERIMANIMAL SERVICES AGREEMENT: <br />ORANGE COUNTYAND TOWN OF CARRBORO <br />June 23, 2006 <br />Introduction <br />On an interim basis, as the Town of Carrboro decides how to provide the animal control <br />services previously provided by their own Animal Control Officer (ACO), Orange <br />County Animal Services will provide select animal control services. These specific <br />services and the terms under which they are to be provided are set out in the following <br />two sections. <br />The period covered by this agreement begins on June 19`t`, 2006, and ends October 1, <br />2006. The cost of select services that are to be provided during this period is $7,420. <br />This is a total base fee that includes labor, mileage, materials and service administration. <br />Scope of Service <br />The Animal Control Division of the Orange County Animal Services Department will <br />provide select services on weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. These services will <br />be in addition to the Emergency Animal Rescue Services that Orange County presently <br />provides under contract with the Town of Carrboro between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and <br />9:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, weekends and Holidays. It is expected that EARS <br />calls will continue to be made through 911 and that Communications will page the on- <br />call EARS worker <br />More specifically, during the weekday hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Animal <br />Control Division of Orange County's Animal Services Department will provide these <br />services: <br />Responses to all calls pertaining to rabies exposures. <br />Mid-term and term health checks on biting animals that are quarantined at home <br />as well as biting animals quarantined at Orange County's Animal Shelter; and the <br />
