AGREEMENT TO PROVIDE COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> This agreement, made and entered into the 4h day of December, 1996, by and <br /> between the Town of Chapel Hill, a municipal corporation, hereinafter called the Town, <br /> and the County of Orange,hereinafter called the County; <br /> WITNESSETH: <br /> That for, and in consideration of the mutual covenants hereinafter contained, the <br /> Town and County, do hereby covenant and ?gree as follows: <br /> I, es to furnish and provide ce-.stinuing Pire protection service to <br /> I The Town agree <br /> all property within the area described in Exhibit A attached hereto and <br /> incorporated herein lying outside the boundaries of the Town, by dispatching <br /> upon call of any resident or property owner within said fire protection service <br /> area, equipment consisting of one pumper of at least 750 gallon per -ininute <br /> capacity and additional units c&,Tying at least 1000 gallons of water and <br /> adequate personnel to operate the same. <br /> 2. The Town will comply with budgeting procedures and other procedures <br /> provided fir by state law, and agrees to annually submit to the County budget <br /> estimates and a supporting letter of request from the Town Manager. <br /> 3. The County agrees to annually levy, collect and make payments to the Town <br /> in the amount generated by the annually approved tax rate for the area <br /> described in Exhibit A, currently 2.9 ccnt. <br /> 4.
