ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />PROCLAMATION OF RECOGNITION ON <br />CARRBORO HIGH SCHOOL MEN'S TENNIS TEAM <br />WINNING THE 2018 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP <br />WHEREAS, on May 19, 2018, the Carrboro High School Men's Tennis Team <br />won the North Carolina High School Athletic Association's 2A State <br />Championship with a 5 -2 victory over Brevard High School; and <br />WHEREAS, the team completed its season with a 16 -2 record; and <br />WHEREAS, the doubles team of Zach Anderson and Andre Javen also won the <br />2A state championship in the individual competition; and <br />WHEREAS, under the guidance of Coach Jon Noyes, the team won its third state <br />championship in the past five years, along with the 2014 and 2015 <br />championships; and <br />WHEREAS, through hard work, dedication, teamwork, and commitment, the team <br />brought honor upon themselves, Carrboro High School, the Chapel <br />Hill / Carrboro City Schools District and Orange County; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it proclaimed that the Orange County Board of <br />Commissioners expresses its sincere appreciation and respect for the <br />Carrboro High School Men's Tennis Team and Coach Noyes for <br />their outstanding achievement, and their inspiration to youth across <br />North Carolina through their dedication, teamwork, and athletic <br />prowess. <br />This the 19th day of June 2018. <br />rb <br />.
