The motion carried without dissent. <br /> <br />Summary of September 20, 2017 meeting: Beth Grooms made a motion to approve the Summary; seconded by <br />Edmund Tiryakian. The motion carried without dissent. <br /> <br />General Public Comments on items not on the agenda: None. <br /> <br />Animal Services Advisory Board: <br />(A) Animal Services Advisory Board Elections: A nominating committee must be appointed to develop the slate <br />of officers. Edmund Tiryakian made a motion that Susan Elmore to head the nominating committee to bring <br />a slate of officers for the November meeting; seconded by Beth Grooms. The motion carried without <br />dissent. The incumbents are interested in another term. <br />(B) Progress Report and Work Plan: The report is due on December 15th to BOCC. They will discuss Board <br />reports in January or February at a work session. The report reviews the activities of the current year and <br />forecasts activities for the next year. Bob Marotto will bring the report to ASAB prior to the November <br />meeting. Board members should bring their responses to the November meeting. It would be a good <br />opportunity to plan for revisions to the Hearing Panel Pool operating procedures in 2018. <br />(C) Pat Sanford Grant: A call for proposals was sent out this week. Beth Grooms make a motion to nominate <br />the review panel of Molly Mullin, Judy Miller, and Victoria Hudson as the ASAB’s contribution to the grant <br />review; Susan Elmore seconded. The motion carried without dissent. A final grant decision will be made in <br />early December. <br /> <br />Old Business: <br /> <br />(A) Free Roaming Cat Spay & Neuter Initiative: First, the new Working Barn Cat Program marketing was <br />presented. Bob Marotto reported progress on the message and community partners. Outreach is occurring <br />in many ways. An effort of the program will occur on October 20th by trapping a large number of cats at a <br />county farm, and the cats will be brought to the OCAS for SNAP services.
