The motion carried without dissent. <br /> <br />Summary of April 19, 2017 meeting: Beth Grooms made a motion to approve the Summary with edits; seconded by <br />Michael Stewart. The motion carried without dissent. <br /> <br />General Public Comments on items not on the agenda: None. <br /> <br />Open House update: Sarah Fallin spoke about the event scheduled for June 3rd 12-4. She summarized some of the <br />features, tours, guests, and traffic control. She is accepting monetary and food donations for refreshments. <br /> <br />Animals and art: Katie Murray, Director of the Orange County Arts Commission, reported on the installation of the <br />new art. She also offered some suggestions for art collaboration on the interior of the building: (1) an elementary <br />school art contest using 6’x6’ canvases of pet portraits (shorter term); (2) or put out a call for a paint day with local <br />artists that results in original art that will be displayed for a period and then auctioned (longer term). More detailed <br />projects will be on the agenda for the June meeting. <br /> <br />Animal Services Advisory Board: <br />(A) Revised ASAB Policies and Procedures: The revisions are on the agenda for the BOCC’s approval on June 6, <br />2017. <br />(B) ASAB Reappointments: Nominations are on the agenda for the BOCC’s approval on June 20, 2017. <br />The Town of Chapel Hill municipal member names have been set to the Town Council of Chapel Hill. <br />(C) Dangerous Dog Hearings: Edmund Tiryakian gave an update on the most recent hearings. <br /> <br />Old Business: <br />(A) Pets of the Homeless Task Force: no report <br />(B) Free Roaming Cat Spay & Neuter Initiative: Bob Marotto summarized part of a 2017 ($5000) grant work plan <br />for controlling free roaming cats. The suggestion was to pursue the partnership with the Agricultural <br />Preservation Board to offer sterilization of barn cats. There was discussion on the logistics to offer <br />something like SNAP (with vaccinations and some preventative care), on certain days, or certain locations, or
