1 <br /> APPROVED 4/18/2017 <br /> MINUTES <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> April 4, 2017 <br /> 7:00 p.m. <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 <br /> at 7:00 p.m. at the Whitted Building, in Hillsborough, N.C. <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Dorosin and Commissioners Mia Burroughs, <br /> Mark Dorosin, Barry Jacobs, Earl McKee, Mark Marcoplos, Renee Price and Penny Rich <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, Deputy County Manager <br /> Travis Myren and Clerk to the Board Donna Baker (All other staff members will be identified <br /> appropriately below) <br /> Chair Dorosin called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. He noted Commissioner <br /> Burroughs was running late this evening. <br /> 1. Additions or Changes to the Agenda <br /> Chair Dorosin noted the following items at the Commissioners' places: <br /> - White sheets: PowerPoint for item 6-a <br /> - White sheets: PowerPoint for item 6-b <br /> - White sheets: PowerPoint for item 6-c <br /> PUBLIC CHARGE <br /> Chair Dorosin dispensed with the reading of the public charge. <br /> 2. Public Comments <br /> a. Matters not on the Printed Agenda <br /> None <br /> b. Matters on the Printed Agenda <br /> (These matters will be considered when the Board addresses that item on the agenda <br /> below.) <br /> 3. Announcements, Petitions and Comments by Board Members <br /> Commissioner McKee had none. <br /> Commissioner Jacobs said he and Chair Dorosin have been meeting with Durham <br /> County officials about light rail (LRT), and the meetings are amicable and productive. He said <br /> all the necessary agreements may be reached before the end of the month. <br /> Commissioner Rich said she attended her first Department of Transportation (DOT) <br /> meeting, and thanked Max Bushell, Transportation Planner II, for giving her a tour on the DOT <br /> roads that were discussed in the meeting. <br />
