1 <br /> APPROVED 4/18/2017 <br /> MINUTES <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> March 21, 2017 <br /> 7:00 p.m. <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, March 21, <br /> 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Southern Human Services Center in Chapel Hill, N.C. <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Dorosin and Commissioners Mia Burroughs, <br /> Barry Jacobs, Earl McKee, Mark Marcoplos, Renee Price and Penny Rich <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, Deputy County Manager <br /> Travis Myren and Clerk to the Board Donna Baker (All other staff members will be identified <br /> appropriately below) <br /> Chair Dorosin called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. <br /> 1. Additions or Changes to the Agenda <br /> Chair Dorosin noted the following items at the Commissioners' places: <br /> - White sheet: Item 4-a, PowerPoint <br /> - Pink sheet: Item 11-f, proposed Board of Health (BOH) appointment <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner McKee, seconded by Commissioner Price to add <br /> this item- Board of Health appointment - to the agenda as Item 11-f. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> - Blue sheet: Item 11-b, revised abstract for Arts Commission <br /> - Green Sheet: Item 11-d, revised abstract for Chapel Hill Planning Commission <br /> - White sheets: Item 6-a, hand outs and PowerPoint <br /> - Information Handout from Chapel Hill Meeting <br /> **Appointments (3) —the request was made to move these items up on the agenda. <br /> Chair/Vice Chairs from the boards could not attend, but staff was available to answer any <br /> questions about their recommendations: <br /> Commissioner McKee suggested moving forward these appointments since there are <br /> no heavy hitting items. <br /> Chair Dorosin suggested making these appointments Item 5. <br /> 11 a. Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool —Appointments <br /> The Board will consider making appointments to the Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool. <br /> 11 b Arts Commission —Appointments <br /> The Board will consider making appointments to the Arts Commission. <br /> 11 e. Economic Development Advisory Board —Appointments <br /> The Board will consider making appointments to the Economic Development Advisory Board. <br />
