1 <br /> APPROVED 3/7/2017 <br /> MINUTES <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> WORK SESSION <br /> February 16, 2017 <br /> 7:00 p.m. <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met for a work session on Thursday, February <br /> 16, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Southern Human Services Center in Chapel Hill, N.C. <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Dorosin and Commissioners Mia Burroughs, <br /> Barry Jacobs, Earl McKee, Mark Marcoplos, Renee Price and Penny Rich <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, Deputy County Manager <br /> Travis Myren and Clerk to the Board Donna Baker (All other staff members will be identified <br /> appropriately below) <br /> Chair Dorosin called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> Chair Dorosin said Agenda Item 1 needs to be moved to February 21st, due to the full <br /> nature of this evening's agenda. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Rich to move <br /> this item to the 21st agenda. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> Commissioner Rich asked if, when Item 1 is presented next week, could it be formatted <br /> differently to make it easier to read the comments. <br /> Bonnie Hammersley said staff felt similarly, but wanted the Board of County <br /> Commissioners (BOCC) to see all the comments. She said staff received three sets of <br /> comments, and rather than manipulating the comments, chose to number the pages and enter <br /> page numbers as each item was discussed. She said some comments were moved into the <br /> recommendations, and noted the different colors were due to various technology that was <br /> used, and the colors were difficult to manipulate. <br /> Chair Dorosin said he would like to reverse the orders of Items 4 and 5 this evening. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Rich to <br /> reverse the order of these two items. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 1. Review and Amend the Orange County Housing Affordability Policy <br /> This item moved to the February 21st Board of County Commissioners Regular <br /> meeting. <br />
