~ci0 <br />Btinutes of the Board of Cammis si oners <br />Jvne 1, 19$3 <br />The Board of Commissioners for the County of Orange met in regular ses- <br />sion on fifondey, June 1, 1953, at 10 o'clock A. h?. in the Commissioners' Room <br />et the Courthouse in Hillsboro, the usual place of meeting. <br />Members present: R. 0. Forrest, Chairman; Sim L. Efland and R. J. ?.1. ~-,~ <br />Hobbs, Commissionsrs. <br />Ltembers absent: None. J <br />Tha minutes of the }day meotings were read and approved. <br />S. A. Johnson, Trustee of Orange County Highway Sinking Funds, appeared <br />before the Board and stated that to date he had paid off bonds in the amount .. <br />of 521}7,000.00 end had the cancelled bonds in his possession. This leaving <br />outstending onlg iy"3000.00 in such bonds. air. Johnson asked that he be dis- <br />charged as Trustee as soon ¢s possible. <br />IInon motion of Covrmissioner Hobbs, duly seconded by Commiss loner Efland, <br />the following resolution was uaanimousl9 adopted: <br />RESOLVED, That upon a satisfactoxg audit of the Sinking Funds Account, <br />it is ordered th¢t ¢11 funds and cancelled bonds in the possession of S, A. <br />Johnson, Trustee of tho Orange County Highway Sinking Fund, be turnod over <br />to Ira A. Ward, County Accountant, and thet the said S, A. Johnson be dis- <br />charged es Trustee. <br />Mr. A. Hume Cleytor, County Dog V1¢rden, reported on the work done by him <br />since the h1¢y l}th meeting. <br />Ttvo members of the State Fire VJarden's Office appeared end reported that <br />?dr. 47ordie Fitzgerald had reslgnad ¢a Orenga County Fire Warden, and that <br />Orenge ¢nd Alama nce Counties were being combined into a district, with a <br />Greduate Forester in charge. <br />?dr, G, Paul Carr, Superintendent of Orange County Schools, fi1r. C. VJ. <br />StanTord and hlr. Rerry P. Breeze, members of the Board of Education, appeared <br />and di acussed their 1953-54 budget requests in detail. <br />IIpon motion oP Commissioner Hobbs, seconded bg Coammleeioner Efland, ~~ ~~ <br />Ira A, i'fard, Tar. Supervisor, is hereby authorized to submit to tho Grand Jury <br />the names of tax peyers who have failed to list thelr property for 1953 taxes.
