Gordon, Earl McKee, Bernadette Pelissier, Renee Price and Penny Rich <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: <br /> COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: Interim County Manager Michael Talbert, Assistant County <br /> Managers Cheryl Young and Clarence Grier and Clerk to the Board Donna Baker (All other <br /> staff inembers will be identified appropriately below) <br /> Chair Jacobs called the meeting to order. He said the following two items were to be <br /> added to the agenda tonight: <br /> Closed Session <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner McKee, seconded by Commissioner Rich to add <br /> a closed session at the end of the meeting for the purpose of: <br /> To discuss matters relating to the location or expansion of industries or other businesses in the <br /> area served by the public body, including agreement on a tentative list of economic <br /> development incentives that may be offered by the public body in negotiations. The action <br /> approving the signing of an economic development contract or commitment, or the action <br /> authorizing the payment of economic development expenditures, shall be taken in an open <br /> session. § 143-318.11(a)(4). <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> Televising the additional budget public hearing <br /> Clerk to the Board Donna Baker said this item is being brought forth because the Board <br /> decided last week to televise the May 22nd Budget Public Hearing ( at DSS) in order to <br /> introduce to the public the new County Manager. <br /> She noted that at the Board of County Commissioners meeting on May 13th a <br /> Commissioner requested that the May 29th Budget Public Hearing at Southern Human <br /> Services Center also be televised to make this equitable. <br /> Chair Jacobs said the cost would be a total of$2110, and the funding would come from <br /> the Clerk's budget or the Board of County Commissioners contingency fund. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner McKee, seconded by Commissioner Price to <br /> authorize the Clerk to move forward with televising the May 29th Budget Public Hearing at <br /> Southern Human Services Center, as well as the May 22nd public hearing. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />
