Meeting of the Board Of Commissioners <br /> Monday, October ?, 1946 <br /> The Board met at the usual hour in the Commissioners Room at the <br /> Courthouse: Present, Ben F. Wilson, Chairman, Protem and Hubert G. <br /> Laws, Commissioner. <br /> The minutes of the September meeting was read and approved. <br /> WHEREAS, the State Highway and Public Works Commission has filed <br /> with the Board of Commissioners of the County of Orange a map designated <br /> as Project 5-364 showing a proposed relocation of a section of county <br /> road; and <br /> WHEREAS, it appears that this relocation is for the best interest <br /> of the road system of the said county; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the Proposed change and relocation as shown on the <br /> said map is hereby approved and ratified. <br /> Mr. Clyde Hughes presented a road petition requesting a road from <br /> Widow Brownts Bridge, near Fairfield Church, through by farm of Clay Dorsett <br /> and others to Babe Torian Farm on Cedar Grove and Harmony road, a distance <br /> of aproximately 32 miles. <br /> 141r. James A. Mayes presented a petition asking that the State Highway <br /> and Public Works Commission take over and maintain a road in Viest Hillsboro, <br /> known as North Avenue, said road being about 639 yards in length. <br /> Upon motion, it is hereby ordered that 14r. John =T. Cate Jae paid T71RTEEN <br /> AND 5U/100 DOLLARS for 9 goats killed by dogs. <br /> Upon motiop,it is hereby ordered that 11r. S. P. Lockhart be paid FIFTY <br /> DOLLARS for six turkey gobblers and one turkey hen killed by dogs. <br /> Ruby C. Carraway, Negro, come Demonstration Agent, turned in report <br /> showing work done through her office for the month of September. <br /> !VIrs. Yathryn V. TTanrick, Home Demonstration Agent, presented a narra- <br /> tive report of the Nvork done through her office for the month of September. <br /> She reported that the Chapel Hill Curb Market sales for the month of <br /> September was 4$2,834.73. <br /> Carl C. Russ,Cer- <br /> tified Public Accountant, and that 1945 tax books be turned 0'&er to G. W. Ray, <br /> County Accountant for further collections. <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Laws and unanimously adopted, it is hereby <br /> ordered that the 1946 Tax Books be turned over to Carl C.
