14inutes of the Board of Commissioners of 1 J 1 <br /> Orange County, 1-onday September 4,1944 <br /> i <br /> The Board met at the usual hour, in the Commisibioner's <br /> Room at the Court House; Present,Collier Cobb, Jr.,Chairman, <br /> Ben F. Wilson and Hubert G. Laws, Commissioners. <br /> The minutes of the August meeting were read and approved. <br /> - Mr. A. H. Graham, stated,that he and Gilbert W. Ray had <br /> Investigated the condition of the County Cemetery, and recom- <br /> mended that the grounds in the old part be leveled and put in such <br /> shape that it could be mowed. <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Wilson, duly seconded by Commis- <br /> sioner Laws, and unanimously passed that beginning witl the year <br /> 1945, Fred Morrow, Colored, of Chapel Hill, be exempted from <br /> future listing and paying of poll taxes. <br /> Mr. W. T. Mattox, Superintendent, of Public Welfare, presented <br /> a list of all 0. A. A. and A. D. C. revisions for the month of <br /> August. <br /> The following names were drawn to serve as Jurors at the <br /> October term of Superior Court. <br /> 1. Bob Terrell Cks. 19. R.
