00'i <br /> i • <br /> a <br /> MINUTES <br /> MAY 19, 1981 <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on <br /> Tuesday, May 19, 1981, at 7:30 P.M. in the Commissioners ' Room, Orange <br /> County Courthouse, Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br /> Commissioners present: Commissioner Anne Barnes, Chair, and Com- <br /> missioners Norman Gustaveson, Norman Walker, and Richard Whitted. <br /> Commissioners Absent: Commissioner Don Willhoit. <br /> Agenda Item 1: Board modification of Agenda <br /> Commissioner Barnes announced the addition of three items: a re- <br /> Y <br /> quest for a joint meeting from the Town of Carrboro, A Proclamation for <br /> the Orange County Soil and Water Conservation District, and an executive <br /> session for the six months evaluation of the Clerk to the Board. <br /> Agenda Item 2: Audience Comments <br /> A. Matters on this agenda: Ms. Terrell wished to speak about her <br /> N°operty on Little River Drive; Commissioner Barnes told her she could <br /> speak during the Public Hearing on that subject. <br /> B. Matters not on this agenda: There were no comments from the audience <br /> about matters not on the agenda. <br /> ' Commissioner Barnes welcomed those members of both school systems to <br /> the meeting. <br /> Agenda Item 3: Public Hearing on Preliminary Assessment <br /> Roll for SR # 1593 Little River Drive & <br /> SR # 1878 New Hope Drive <br /> . s <br /> t <br /> The Board Chair announced this was the time and place of the Public <br /> rearing on the Preliminary Assessment Roll for the paving of SR # 1593 <br /> i <br /> and SR # 1878. Ms. Marilyn Terrell of Little River Drive said she was <br /> i <br /> unhappy with the work done; she clarified that part of a drainage ditch <br /> had been filled on her property when the paving was done and consequently <br /> j there was not proper drainage. The County Attorney clarified for Ms. <br /> Terrell that the County only puts up the money for the paving; the State <br /> does the work. The Board instructed Mr. Rees to try to work out a sat <br /> isfactory arrangement between Ms. Terrell and Mr. Watkins of the Department <br /> cf Transportation.
