316 Minutes of the Board of Commissioners <br />Wednesday, September 21, 19L9 <br />The Board met at 7:h5 o'clock P. Li., Wednesday, September 21, 1949, in the <br />Commissioners' Room at the Courthouse. Present: Collier Cobb, Jr., Chairman, <br />Ben F. Wilson and H. G. Levis, Commissioners. <br />This meeting was called for the purpose of discussing the new method now I� <br />being used by the State Highway Commission for the approval of roads to be <br />hardsurfaced. <br />Don S. Matheson and G. 0. Reitzel aooeared before the board and discussed <br />the meeting with the State Highway Commissioner, James Barnwell, scheduled for <br />1.1onday night, September 26, 19.9• <br />The Board advised Mr. Reitzel and Mr, fatheson that it would appreciate <br />any halo it could get on the selection of the roads to be hardsurfaced and <br />would be glad to work with the committee to be appointed at the scheduled road <br />meeting. <br />Uoon motion, the Board approved the spending of $10.00 from the General <br />Fund. Emergency Aoproprlations for cost cards to be used in notifying the citi- <br />zens of the County, concerning the road meeting scheduled for Monday night, <br />September 26, 1949• <br />The Board appointed the following citizens as new members of the Steering <br />Committee for the Bond Election: <br />L. J. Phipps, Co- Chairman - Chapel Hill <br />Ernest T. Hearn - Carrboro <br />F. M. Durham - Carrboro <br />G. O. Reitzel - Hillsboro <br />Mrs. J. S. Henninger - Chapel Hill <br />Reid Roberts St. Mary's <br />A. K.
