At that <br /> meeting, the Board voted to approve an amendment to the Orange <br /> County Personnel Ordinance to establish a living wage for the <br /> employees of Orange County as County policy. The attached draft <br /> Personnel Ordinance revision is provided to implement the Board's <br /> decision as to the living wage for Orange County employees. <br /> The attached Personnel Ordinance revision extends the $8.00 an hour <br /> living wage to Orange County employees both permanent and <br /> temporary. Currently the minimum hourly salary for a permanent <br /> employee is $8.24 an hour. Thus the proposed Personnel Ordinance <br /> revision would have no impact on permanent County employees. <br /> As to temporary employees, there currently are about 30 temporary <br /> County employees at salaries below $8.00 an hour. The proposed <br /> Personnel Ordinance revision would cover temporary County <br /> employees except for certain student learners. <br />
