APPROVED 5/21/2013 <br /> MINUTES <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> April 9, 2013 <br /> 7:00 p.m. <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, April <br /> 9, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the DSS offices, in Hillsborough, N.C. <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Jacobs and Commissioners Mark Dorosin, <br /> Alice M. Gordon, Barry Jacobs, Earl McKee, Bernadette Pelissier, Renee Price and Penny <br /> Rich <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Frank Clifton, Assistant County Managers <br /> Michael Talbert, Clarence Grier and Clerk to the Board Donna Baker (All other staff members <br /> will be identified appropriately below) <br /> NOTE: ALL DOCUMENTS REFERRED TO IN THESE MINUTES ARE IN THE PERMANENT <br /> AGENDA FILE IN THE CLERK'S OFFICE. <br /> 1. Additions or Changes to the Agenda <br /> Chair Jacobs went through the items at the County Commissioners' places: <br /> - White sheet—for Item 7a - Rogers Road Community Center Power Point <br /> - Pink, blue and yellow sheets —for Item 7-b- Recycling letters <br /> Due to a power outage earlier in the night, Chair Jacobs suggested changes to the <br /> agenda. He asked the board to consider deferring items 4b and 4c, and to invite these people <br /> back for another meeting. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner McKee, seconded by Commissioner Price to <br /> defer these items to a future meeting. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> Commissioner Dorosin arrived at 7:02pm <br /> Chair Jacobs introduced Amanda Page, District Representative from Congressman <br /> Howard Coble's office, who will be based out of the Efland office. <br /> Chair Jacobs also recognized Boy Scout Troop 822 from the Union Grove Methodist <br /> Church and scoutmaster Alan Parker, who earned a merit badge. <br /> PUBLIC CHARGE <br /> The Chair dispensed with the reading of the public charge. <br /> 2.
