4 <br /> 'Re5;- •01 5 <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> RESOLUTION REGARDING <br /> ORANGE COUNTY LEGISLATIVE MATTERS <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of orange <br /> County that the Board hereby requests the Senators and <br /> Representatives representing Orange County to support legislation <br /> regarding the following matters: <br /> (a) transportation initiatives that could require <br /> legislative assistance, including funding for and planning for <br /> rail stations in Orange County and planning for and funding for <br /> more bicycle lanes on roads in Orange County; <br /> (b) the creation of a legislative study committee <br /> concerning North Carolina Department of Transportation reform; <br /> (c) legislation strengthening the State' s spay and neuter <br /> laws (S_) ; <br /> (d) reduce property taxes on homestead property, .allow more <br /> individuals to qualify for the homestead tax reduction and State <br /> reimbursement to local governments for half of the revenue lost <br /> due to the homestead tax reduction (H89) . <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of <br /> Orange County that the Board hereby requests the Senators and <br /> Representatives representing Orange County to support the North <br /> Carolina Association of County Commissioners in its initiatives <br /> for the passage of legislation covering the following items : <br /> (a) provide an expanded menu of county revenue sources; . <br />
