Gardon Battle Courtroom in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Moses Carey, Jr. and Commissioners <br />Valerie P. Foushee, Alice M. Gordon, Barry Jacobs, and Mike Nelson <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br />COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: Geoffrey Gledhill and Brian Ferrell <br />COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Laura Blackmon, Assistant County <br />Manager Gwen Harvey, and Clerk to the Board Donna S. Additions or Changes to the Agenda <br />Chair Carey said that he has been asked to remove item 2-a. This item will be <br />considered on April 24t" <br />Chair Carey thanked the County Manager and the Commissioners who contributed to <br />the new agenda format. <br />PUBLIC CHARGE <br />The Chair dispensed with the reading of the public charge. <br />2. ProclamationslResolutionslSoecial Presentations <br />a. Proclamation Recoanizinq UNC Women's Soccer 2006 NCAA <br />Championship <br />The Board was to consider a proclamation recognizing the UNC women's soccer team <br />for winning the 2006 NCAA Women's National Soccer Championship and authorize the Chair to <br />sign. <br />DEFERRED <br />b. County Government Week Proclamation <br />The Board considered proclaiming the week of April 22-28, 2007 as Orange County <br />Government Week, endorsing the "Student Government Day" activities, and authorizing the <br />Chair to sign the proclamation. <br />Sharron Hinton asked the Board of County Commissioners to proclaim the week of April <br />22-28, 2007 as Orange County Government Week. Student government day will be April 25t", <br />and there will be a bus tour of the County for the high school students. The tour will include the <br />
