APPROVED 8/22/2006 <br />MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISISONERS <br />BUDGET PRESENTATION AND WORK SESSION <br />MAY 25, 2006 <br />7:30 p.m. <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met for a Budget Presentation and Work <br />Session on Thursday, May 25, 2006 p.m. at 7:30 p.m. at the F. Gordon Battle Courtroom <br />in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Barry Jacobs and Commissioners <br />Moses Carey, Jr., Valerie P. Foushee, Alice M. Gordon and Stephen Halkiotis <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY PRESENT: Geoffrey Gledhill <br />COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager John M. Link, Jr., Assistant County <br />Managers Rod Visser and Gwen Harvey and Clerk to the Board Donna S. Baker (All <br />other staff members will be identified appropriately below} <br />NOTE: ALL DOCUMENTS REFERRED TO IN THESE MINUTES ARE IN THE <br />PERMANENT AGENDA FILE IN THE CLERK'S OFFICE. <br />Jahn Link said that there is a CD with the recommended budget on it for each of <br />the County Commissioners and a replacement page for the budget book. <br />Chair Jacobs pointed out that the budget is also on the website. He said that this <br />is only the recommended budget and the County Commissioners have neither discussed <br />nor approved this. This is the first step in a month long process. <br />John Link made reference to the first page in the budget document, which lists all <br />staff that helped put the budget document together. He recognized the staff. He said <br />that he also received assistance from both school districts. <br />
