APPROVED 8/16/2005 <br />MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />BUDGET PUBLIC HEARING <br />June 2, 2005 <br />7:30 p.m. <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at <br />7:30 p.m. at the F. Gordon Battle Courtroom in Hillsborough, North Carolina. The <br />purpose of this meeting was to hold a public hearing on the County Manager's <br />recommended 2005-2006 budget. <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Moses Carey and Commissioners <br />Valerie P. Foushee, Alice M. Gordon, Stephen H. Halkiotis, and Barry Jacobs <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br />COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager John M. Link, Jr., Assistant County <br />Managers Rod Visser and Gwen Harvey and Clerk to the Board Donna 5. Baker (All <br />other staff members will be identified appropriately below} <br />NOTE: ALL DOCUMENTS REFERRED TO IN THESE MINUTES ARE IN THE <br />PERMANENT AGENDA FILE IN THE CLERK'S OFFICE. <br />1. Opening Remarks- Chair <br />Chair Carey asked the people who have signed up to speak to limit comments to <br />no more than three minutes. He also asked that after people have spoken, that they <br />move outside ar upstairs so that other people can move down. He dispensed with the <br />reading of the public charge, but asked the audience to observe it. <br />2.
