APPROVED 3!15!2005 <br />MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />WORK SESSION with <br />SOLID WASTE ADVISORY BOARD <br />February 8, 2005 <br />5:30 p.m. <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met for a Joint Work Session with the Solid Waste <br />Advisory Board on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at 5:30 p.m. at the Southern Human Services <br />Center In Chapel Hill, North Carolina. <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Moses Carey and Commissioners Valerie <br />P. Foushee, Alice M. Gordon, Stephen H. Halkiotis and Barry Jacobs <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br />COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: S. Sean Borhanian <br />COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager John M. Link, Jr., Assistant County <br />Manager Rod Visser and Clerk to the Board Donna Baker (All other staff members will be <br />identified appropriately below} <br />SOLID WASTE ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS: Chair Jan Sassaman, Vice -Chair AI <br />Vickers, and members Bonnie Norwood, Randolph Kabrick, Joe Clayton, Linda Bowerman, and <br />B.J. Board of Commissioner Comments/Questions <br />The meeting began at 6:05 p.m. <br />Chair Carey said that Commissioner Gordon will be late for this meeting because <br />she has another commitment. <br />Everyone introduced themselves. <br />3. BOCC Requested Updates <br />a. Eubanks Road Master Plan {including new solid waste operations center, <br />C&D resale facility, Greene Tract conservation easements, new C&D <br />landfill} <br />Rod Visser said that abaut three years ago the Board of County Commissioners <br />approved about four to six proposed elements of this master plan, and the staff has <br />been working from this since then. He made reference to the Greene Tract Work Group <br />recommendations that were sent to the three governing boards that own the property, <br />
