APPROVED 06!0212004 <br />MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />WORK SESSION <br />April 1, 2004 <br />5:80 p.m. <br />The Grange County Board of Commissioners met far a work session with the <br />Board of Health on Thursday, April 1, 2004 at 5:30 p.m. at the Government Services <br />Center in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Barry Jacobs and Commissioners <br />Margaret Brown, Moses Carey, Jr., and Stephen Halkiotis <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Alice M. Gordan <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY PRESENT: Geoffrey Gledhill and S. Sean Borhanian <br />COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager John M. Link, Jr., Assistant County <br />Manager Gwen Harvey and Deputy Clerk to the Board David Hunt (All other staff <br />members will be identified appropriately below) <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair Alice White and members, <br />Lee D. Werley III, Alan Rimer, Jessica Y. Lee, Matthew Vizithum, Christina Harlan, and <br />Timothy Carey <br />BOARD OF HEALTH MEMBERS ABSENT: Sharon E. Van Horn and Edith Wilder <br />BOARD OF HEALTH STAFF PRESENT: Health Director Rosemary Summers, <br />Maria Hitt, Wayne Sherman, and Ran Holdway <br />NOTE: ALL DOCUMENTS REFERRED TO IN THESE MINUTES ARE IN THE <br />PERMANENT AGENDA FILE IN THE CLERK'S OFFICE. <br />Discussion Topics from Board of Health Included in March 26. 2004 Memorandum <br />to BOCC <br />Primary Care: <br />Chair Jacobs called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m. He welcomed the Board of Health <br />and the Health Department staff. <br />Chair Jacobs said that Commissioner Gordon sends her regrets for not being able to <br />attend tonight's joint meeting. <br />The Board of Health members introduced themselves. <br />Alice White thanked the Commissioners very much for this time and said that there <br />would be no formal presentation but only a discussion format. <br />The first topic is a proposal to introduce some primary care services in the Health <br />Department. <br />
