~~~ <br />MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />JUNE 16, 1986 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in Special Session on June <br />16, 1986 at 7:30 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, orange County Courthouse, <br />Hillsborough, North Carolina for the purpose of holding a public hearing on <br />Woods Edge Mobile Home Park. <br />BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair Don Willhoit and Commissioners <br />Shirley Marshall, Moses Carey, Ben Lloyd and Norman Walker. <br />PLANNING BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair Barry Jacobs and members Chris <br />Best, Tim Hubbard, Mike Lewis, Betty Margison, David Shanklin, Carl Walters, <br />and Steve Yuhasz. <br />STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Kenneth R. Thompson, Planning Director <br />Marvin Collins, Administrative Secretary Joanna Bradshaw, Budget Analyst <br />Donna Wagner, Director of Finance Gordon Baker, Director of Purchasing Pam <br />Jones and Director of Personnel Beverly Whitehead. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON WOODS EDGE MOBILE HOME PARK <br />Director of Planning Marvin Collins presented for receipt of <br />public comments a modification to the Woods Edge Mobile Home Park planned <br />:evelopment special use permit. The applicant, Roger Dale Stephens, <br />,requested approval to make permanent an office mobile home which was <br />,?nstalled on a temporary basis to be used to assist placement of tenants in <br />`'rhe park. He also requested to use an existing foundation on the site to <br />erect a storage facility composed of individual cubicles for use by tenants <br />of each mobile home unit. Both requests would increase the floor area for <br />the planned development. Section 8.7.1 of the Orange County Zoning <br />Ordinance states that an increase in usable floor area constitutes a <br />modification to a_n approved planned development. Section 8.7.2 provides <br />that such request for modification must be submitted to the Board which <br />approved the original .application and a public hearing to receive testimony <br />held. The Board shall subsequently approve, approve with conditions or <br />disapprove the application for modification. <br />The Planning Staff recommended that the modification to the <br />planned development site plan be approved with the condition that the office <br />mobile home be relocated outside of the 100 foot buffer. <br />THERE BEING NO PUBLIC COMMENTS, THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner Carey to <br />continue the public hearing to August 4, 1986 for receipt of the Planning <br />Board recommendation. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />With no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />.d j ourned. <br />Don Willhoit, Chair <br />Beverly A.
