The additional revenue offsets unbudgeted printing costs for ballots <br />associated with the November 1997 bond referendum. The attached budget amendment <br />appropriates these funds to the Board of Election budget (see block #1, page 5) <br />Arts Commission <br />2) The Arts Commission has received notification of a grant award from the North Cazolina Arts <br />Council. This $2,000 award is to assist the department in developing an Internet site where citizens <br />can access a listing of all County artists. The attached budget amendment appropriates these grant <br />monies to the Arts Commission. (See block #2, page 5) <br />DSS <br />3) The Department of Social Services has received additional State daycaze funds, totaling $90,515 for <br />the 1997-98 fiscal year. These monies enable the department to assist families who are on waiting <br />lists for daycare services. This budget amendment (see page 5, column 3) will bring Orange <br />County's total State daycaze allocation to $2,259,632. <br />4) The Department of Social Services has received additional unanticipated donations for foster care <br />for the 1997-98 fiscal year. These funds provide Christmas for children in foster care and send them <br />
