APRIL 19, 1983 <br /> 5. <br /> 6. <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session <br /> 7. <br /> on Tuesday, April 19, 1983, beginning at 6:00 P.M. in the Courtroom <br /> 8. <br /> of the Old Post Office Building in Chapel Hill , North Carolina. <br /> 9. <br /> Commissioners present: Commissioner Richard E. Whitted, Chair, <br /> 10. <br /> and Commissioners Ben Lloyd, Shirley E. Marshall , Norman Walker and <br /> lie ' <br /> Don Willhoit. <br /> 12, <br /> A. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INTERVIEWS <br /> 13. <br /> Beginning at 6:00 P.M. the Board interviewed candidates for the <br /> 14- <br /> Orange County Economic Development Commission. Those interviewed were: <br /> 15. <br /> Pat Crawford, John McKee, Ed Bergman and Moses Carey, Jr. <br /> 16, <br /> B. BOARD COMMENTS <br /> Commissioner Marshall added discussion of the Section Eight Con- <br /> 18. <br /> tract; Commissioner Whitted added a report by the Commission on Women <br /> 19. <br /> and Commissioner Lloyd reported that the Town of Mebane had consented <br /> 20e <br /> to participate in the Orange County Economic Development Commission. <br /> 21. <br /> C. AUDIENCE COMMENTS <br /> 22. <br /> There were no members of the audience who wished to address the <br /> 23. <br /> Board on matters not on the agenda; those who were present for items <br /> 24- <br /> on the agenda were told they could speak to those items. <br /> 25. <br /> D. MINUTES <br /> 26. <br /> Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Marshall , <br /> 27, <br /> to approve the Minutes of March 31, 1983, as submitted. Vote: Ayes, <br /> 28. <br /> 5; noes, 0. <br /> 29. <br /> Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Marshall , <br /> 30e <br /> to approve the Minutes of April 8, 1983, as submitted. Vote: Ayes, <br /> 31., <br /> 5; noes, 0. <br /> 32. <br /> E. PUBLIC HEARING--CDBG <br /> e .....-. Mr. Albert <br /> - Kittrell , Community Development Director, presented the <br /> 34- <br /> programs with estimates of their costs for development of the <br /> 35. <br /> Councilville community. The total request for the grant is $687,000. <br /> 36e <br /> Commissioner Walker noted on the program that it called for the <br /> 37* <br /> acquisition of 5 parcels of land; he wanted to know what would be done <br /> 38. <br /> 39. <br /> 40- <br />
