APRIL 5, 1983 6. 7* The Orange- County Board of Commissioners met in regular session 8. on Tuesday, April 5, 1983, at 10:00 A.M. in the Commissioners' Room, 9, Orange County Courthouse, Hillsborough, North Carolina. 10. Commissioners present: Richard E. Whitted, Chair, and Commis- 11. sioners Ben Lloyd, Shirley E. Marshall , and Don Willhoit. 12. Commissioners absent: Norman Walker. 13• A. BOARD COMMENTS 14. Commissioner.Marshall added consideration of the meeting of 15, April 25th to the agenda and requested a report from either the 16. Manager or the Planning Department about the status of the airport 17. public hearing. 18. B. AUDIENCE COMMENTS 19. Dr. Vickers Burdette and Mr. Lance Richards wished to address 20. the Board about the Wild Animal Control issue. There were no other 21. comments. 22. C. MINUTES �3, Commissioner Marshall moved, seconded by Commissioner Willhoit, 24• to approve the Minutes of February 21, 1983, as submitted. Vote: 25. Ayes, 4; noes, 0. 26. Commissioner Willhoit moved, seconded by Commissioner Marshall , 27, to approve the Minutes of March 15, 1983, as corrected. Vote: Ayes, 28. 4; noes, 0. 29. D. REPORT-- CLEAN UP LITTER CAMPAIGN 30. Mr. Wayne Weston, Recreation Director, reported on plans to 31. observe Clean Up Litter Week in Orange County. He presented 32. a Joint Proclamation from the Towns of Carrboro and Chapel Hill 33.- de.signating. the week of April 17th - 23rd C1_ean Up Litter in Orange 34. County. Commissioner Marshall moved, seconded by Commissioner Lloyd, 35. to adopt the Proclamation establishing April 17-23, 1983, Clean Up 36• Litter Week in Orange County (see page of this book for that Pro 37. clamation) .
