MINUTES <br /> MARCH 1, 1982 <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, <br /> March 1, 1982, at 10:00 A.M. in the Cmni.ssioners' Roan, Orange county Courthouse, <br /> Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br /> Commissioners present: Chairman Richard E. iii.tted, and Omr&ssioners Norm <br /> Gustaveson, Shirley E. Marshall, Noonan Walker and Don Willhoit. <br /> A. Comments from the Board: - - - - <br /> Carmissinner Wi]lhoit added on out. of tuition charged, <br /> by the School Boards; Coimmi.ssioner Gustaveson added an item on the Capital Heuth <br /> Systems Agency. <br /> B. Cormrents frrm'the Audience: <br /> Chaalrm Whitted recognized Representative Anne Barnes who announced that the <br /> County had received a grant for $6,000 fran the State Deponent on Aging to aid <br /> in the renovation of the Na thSl_e Multipurpose Center. Ctzmmissioner Gustaveson <br /> recognized two citizens from the churches in Chapel Hill who are monitoring the <br /> I Board ffiL ings. The County Manager introduced the new Finance Director, W. Wallace <br /> I <br /> Harding, to the Board. <br /> i <br /> i <br /> C. Reports: <br /> 1. Dr. Mike Sim ens presented a brief report to the Board an the Exception .._. <br /> Child program. He detailed the level of service for the Board, that is, twenty- <br /> four children are being served now with the number increasing to one hundred once the <br /> children are identified. Drs.,Simmons and ri,,,sford noted the level of funding from <br /> ' the Federal Gove=rent was decreasing and therefore the number of teachers in this <br /> area would decrease from the previous year- The Board thanked Drs.
