Bennett, and Commissioners William <br />C. Ray, Henry 3. Walker, Ira A, Ward and C, Norman Walker. <br />Members Absent: None <br />The County Administrator presented the folloxipg ~~'" ''"•'"' entitled <br />A RESOLUTION LFVYlNG A ONE Phi CENT (].,°6) LOCAL 3ALffi AND II3E TAX AND PR83CRIBING <br />THE 2SFTAOD OF DISTRIBUTION OF THS PROCEEDS WITSIN ORANGE COUNTY <br />WH~t8A8, pursuant to General Statutes 10§-1~66(b), and after <br />a public hearing held on July 22, 1971, after duo notiao thereof, the <br />Board of Commissioners of Oraog• County being of the opinion that <br />it xould be to the beat intsreat of the aitisena of said County to <br />impose and levy the sales and uss tax as authorised by lax, and <br />WHEEiBA3, ao sleotion has been held under the provisions of <br />General Statutes 10$-l~.6$ in which the tax has been defeated, <br />NOW, THRRHFORB, <br />BB IT RS30LVED by the Board of County Conssiasionere of Orange <br />County as folloxe: • <br />section 1. There is hereby imposed and levied within Orange <br />CountyT a one per Dent (l~) local Galen and use tax authorised by <br />Article 39, 3ubahapter VIII, Chapter 105 of the General 3tatutee <br />oP North Carolina. Tha tax hereby imposed and levied shall apply <br />to the a.me extent Gad aub~ect to the same iimitatioas as are set <br />forth is Seationa 105-1~b7 and 105-t}68. <br />Section 2. Collection of the tax by the North Carolina <br />Commissioner of Revenue, and liability therefor, shall begin and <br />continue on and after the first day of September, 1971. <br />Section 3. The net proceeds of the tax levied heroin shall <br />be distributed by the Commissioner oP Revenue to Orange County and <br />to each municipality herein upon a par capita basis to b• determined <br />in the manner sot forth in 3eation 10$~(~.72(a). <br />3eation 4.
