Gordon, Stephen H. Halkiotis, Verla C. Insko (arrived <br /> 14 at 6: 10) and Don Wilihoit. <br /> 15 ATTORNEY PRESENT: Geoffrey Gledhill <br /> 16 STAFF PRESENT: County Manager John M. Link, Jr. , Assistant County <br /> 17 Managers Albert Kittrell and Rod Visser, Economic Development Director Ted <br /> 18 Abernathy, Myra Austin, Clerk to the Board Beverly A. Blythe, Human Resources <br /> 19 Analyst II Eleanor Green, Budget and Management Analyst Donna Hamlet, <br /> 20 Personnel Director Elaine Holmes, Planner Eddie Kirk, Budget Director Sally <br /> 21 Kost, Public Works Director Wilbert McAdoo and Planner Mary Scearbo. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 NOTE: All items referred to in these minutes are in the permanent agenda file <br /> 24 in the Clerk's office. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Chair Carey welcomed the high school students to the meeting. These <br /> 27 students from both high schools will be participating in the official for a <br /> 28 day program planned for April 14 . <br /> 29 <br /> 30 I. ADDITIONS OR CHANGES TO THE AGENDA <br /> 31 Chair Carey added to the agenda a report on the Hyconeechee Regional <br /> 32 Library. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 11. AUDIENCE COMMENTS <br /> 35 <br /> 36 A. MATTERS ON THE PRINTED AGENDA <br /> 37 Chair Carey announced that anyone wanting to speak to an item on <br /> 38 the printed agenda will be recognized at the appropriate time. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 B. MATTERS NOT ON THE PRINTED AGENDA - NONE <br /> 41 <br /> 42 BOARD COMMENTS <br /> 43 Commissioner Halkiotis referred to an article in the newspaper about <br /> 44 the confiscation of guns and knives from students at UNC. He asked that the <br /> 45 Sheriff report on what he projects the crime to be in the future and what we <br /> 46 can do to help the situation. <br /> 47 <br /> 48 PUBLIC CHARGE <br /> 49 Chair Carey dispensed with the reading of the Public Charge. <br /> 50 <br /> 51 <br /> 52 <br />
