Marshall and John Hartwell. <br /> BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Chairman Moses Carey, Jr. and Commissioner Do <br /> Willhoit. <br /> ATTORNEY PRESENT: Geoffrey Gledhill <br /> STAFF PRESENT: County Manager John M. Link, Jr. , and Assistant Count <br /> Managers Albert Kittrell and Ellen Liston, Deputy Clerk to the Board Kathy <br /> Baker, Clerk to the Board Beverly A. BOARD COMMENTS <br /> Vice-Chair Halkiotis announced that the meeting scheduled for <br /> Wednesday, June 27 has been cancelled. The next regular meeting will be held <br /> on August 6 in Hillsborough. He asked that the County Attorney give the <br /> Commissioners information on any state statutes which address the issue of <br /> uncovered trucks going into the landfill. Gledhill explained that NCDOT does <br /> a periodic check of trucks for safety violations. About 75-80% of these <br /> trucks have violations. <br /> II. COUNTY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> County Manager John Link announced that the County has received three <br /> NACo achievement awards this year for (1) the CAT Program, (2) Friends of <br /> Black Children, and (3) the Land Records Computer Access System. He referred <br /> to a memo from Paul Thames and stated that the flow in the Eno is lOcsf. At <br /> this level withdrawals from the Eno are limited. <br /> Assistant County Manager Ellen Liston recognized Keith Brooks who was <br /> recently selected by the State Chapter of the Government Management <br /> Information Sciences International as D.P. Professional of the year. <br /> IV. AUDIENCE COMMENTS <br /> ITEMS ON THE PRINTED AGENDA <br /> Vice-Chair Halkiotis asked that those in the audience who wish to <br /> speak on any item on the printed agenda to sign up on the pads provided. <br /> ITEMS NOT ON THE PRINTED AGENDA <br />
