Gordon, Verla C. Insko and Don <br /> Willhoit. <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEY PRESENT: Geoffrey Gledhill <br /> STAFF PRESENT: County Manager John M. Link, Jr. , Assistant <br /> County Manager Albert Kittrell, Economic Development Director Ted <br /> Abernathy, Deputy Clerk to the Board Kathy Baker, Clerk to the Board <br /> Beverly Blythe, Finance Director Ken Chavious, Planning Director Marvin <br /> Collins, Deputy Sheriff II Archie Daniel, Housing and Community <br /> Development Director Tara Fikes, Purchasing Director Pam Jones, Budget <br /> Administrator Sally Kost, Department on Aging Director Jerry Passmore, <br /> County Engineer Paul Thames, Budget and Management Analyst Donna Wagner, <br /> Planners Jim Hinkley and Eddie Kirk. <br /> NOTE: All documents referenced in these minutes are in the permanent <br /> agenda file in the Clerk's Office. <br /> I. BOARD COMMENTS - NONE <br /> II. COUNTY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> John Link stated that at the next meeting the County Attorney <br /> will have available for the Board the items they want to be submitted <br /> to the General Assembly for local legislation. <br /> Geoffrey Gledhill listed the items for which the Board agreed to <br /> seek local legislation. These are listed below: <br /> 1. An act to provide for changes in the Subdivision regulations <br /> relating to recreation areas. <br /> 2 . An act which would authorize the County to grant density <br /> bonuses. <br /> 3 . An act allowing the County to acquire land for farm <br /> preservation and watershed protection. <br /> 4 . An act to require financial security for the repair and <br /> operation of community septic systems. <br /> 5. A bill to levy an occupancy tax <br /> 6. Impact tax bill, if Chapel Hill agrees, or the Impact fee <br /> bill on a countywide basis. <br />
