f <br /> 32 <br /> MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> JUNE 20, 1980 <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in special work session <br /> on Friday, June 20, 1980, at 7:30 p.m., in the Commissioners Room, Orange <br /> County Courthouse, in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br /> 4 Present: Commissioner Richard Whitted, Chairman, and Commissioners <br /> 3 <br /> Norman Walker, Norman Gustaveson, Don Willhoit and Anne Barnes. - <br /> The purpose of the meeting was to continue review of the proposed s <br /> Orange County budget for fiscal year 1980-81. <br /> The board discussed the per capita figure for schools and <br /> funds for the following agencies which were not included in the Manager's <br /> recommended budget: Elections, Register of Deeds, Energy, Personnel, <br /> Mental Health, Libraries, JOCCA, Career Education, RSVP, Commission for <br /> • <br /> Women, Recreation, Health, Social Services, Day Care, Public Works, . <br /> Phillips Project, Wildcat Creek Paving project, Sheaffer House, Soil <br /> _ and Water Conservation. The Board recommended additional funding, <br /> above the Manager's recommendation,far the following agencies. <br /> Career Education - $2,000, RSVP - $818, Health - $10,732, <br /> Rape Crisis Center - $8,000, ABD/GED - $3,600, Women's Health <br /> Counciling Service - $10,000, Coalition for Battered Women - $4,000. <br /> The Board recommended cutting $12,000 from Veterans Office budget and <br /> ; i $2,000 from Manager's Office budget. <br /> 1 <br /> The Board discussed fees for well and septic tank permits and <br /> # 1 dental fees recommended by the Board of Health, Family Planning <br /> 4 <br /> E <br /> i i fees and dog fees. <br /> The Board also discussed cost of living increases, reclassifications, <br /> i 1 capital budget items, the tax rate and net debt reduction bonds. <br /> 1 <br /> i z ,i` Richard E.
